An expert at expansion and growth, he has spearheaded the platform foundation, recruitment and development of executive teams, building of sales and execution organizations, and the development of systems and procedures for rapid growth for numerous companies throughout a variety of industries.
With over a decade as the Operating Partner and Director for two Private Equity firms with over $1billion under investment; he identifies the opportunity potential in target companies, develops the strategic plans and oversees the operational implementation of growth initiatives, ensuring that companies maximize their potential; often taking an interim CEO role and developing management teams and providing Board leadership as Chairman. He has extensive experience in due diligence, capital formation, Mergers and Acquisitions, streamlining operations, solving complex challenges and multi-unit replication across multiple industries.
Prior to Private Equity, his career included C-Level positions in the medical services, multi-unit retail and restaurant, business services, technology, healthcare and manufacturing and distribution industries. He was CEO and Chairman of Symbius Medical, where he grew a local medical distribution company to a national chain; a Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SmartCare Family Medical Centers, Inc., a retail based health care chain which grew from startup to national presence; Founder, President and Vice Chairman of HomeSync Corporation, a home technology integration company; Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Einstein Bros./Noah’s Bagel Corporation where he led the national expansion of the chain; Area Vice President of FedEx/Kinko’s Corporation where he managed the central United States and led the refocus on corporate services and new directions; Led the 13 state Southeastern Operations for PepsiCo/Taco Bell where he grew the business from 125 to over 1,000 locations; and spent many years opening new markets with Tandy Corp/Radio Shack.
Mr. Hay graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia. An accomplished speaker and presenter, he regularly gives talks on a variety of topics. A lifelong student and collector of early American history and artifacts, he has presented to over 7,000 college, high school and middle school students as well as numerous civic and community groups. He is a member of the North American Vexillological Association; a non-profit dedicated to the study of flag history and symbolism and gives numerous presentations on flags and their history. Originally from Savannah, GA., he resides in Denver, CO with the love of his life.
